Sony Ericsson have used the Barcelona Mobile Phone Expo to show off the Xperia Play – widely dubbed as the ‘Playstation phone‘.
The Xperia Play is expected to arrive in April 2011, and mobile phone operator Three will be selling the phone, the firm announced earlier.

Slide out game-pad with two analogue touch pads, a couple of shoulder buttons and the traditional four Playstation shapes we all know so well.
8Gb MicroSD memory card for game storage.
Sony will release games through Android market and the PlayStation store – the likes of Need for Speed, Sims 3 and a massive multiplayer version of FIFA 11.
1Ghz Qualcomm Scorpion processor, and 380Mb of Ram – should deliver 60 frames per second playback for gaming.
480 x 854 resolution screen – a 4 inch backlit LCD screen. Not quite up there with the next generation, but expensive, AMOLED screens.
5.1 MegaPixel camera – auto-focus, flash and geotagging – with video recording at 720P.
Operating System is provided by Android 2.3 (‘Gingerbread’).
A decent sized 1500mAh battery – standby of up to 14 days, over 8 hours of talk time and just under 6 hours of gameplay.
The Xperia Play is slated for an April 2011 launch.
